The most common issue with these units is an inaccurate fuel gauge and digital displays going out. Occasionally, other gauges can fail but the fuel is the most common. If you have any gauge not sweeping during the self-test, the problem is your instrument cluster. These units can also suffer from backlighting problems that are not covered in this repair. If your cluster is suffering from backlighting problems it will require a salvage replacement and can not be repaired. Perform Self-Test: Hold trip button down and then turn ignition to on without starting vehicle. Hold trip until displays change into test mode, then the button can be let go.
- Power supplies for gauges, main power supply, and displays are rebuilt.
