The most common symptom with this unit is backlighting failure. Failures can happen behind the display or behind the gauges. When backlighting behind the display goes out it makes the display appear to loose function. You can usually shine a flashlight at the display during ignition to view the text and see the mileage. This repair will correct both circuits and provide a 5 year warranty on the service.
