The main problem with this instrument cluster is a total communication failure. This is caused by a CAN circuit failure. Typical symptoms are sudden gauge failures & warning lights turning on. Speedometer and tachometer needles can come loose or fall off completely. You may will still be able to read the digital display but the rest of the cluster will fail. If you are having backlighting problems we can repair the issue with white LEDs if your cluster doesn't have the "Luxury Package." Luxury Package will be present on Lariat, King Ranch, FX4, and Harley Davidson Editions. The speedometer and tachometer stepper motors on this unit are very fragile. If you have previously attempted repair of this unit causing a broken speedometer or tachometer stepper motor there will be an extra charge for repair. The speedometer and tachometer stepper motors are not available and must be disassembled to repair. Each broken motor will incur an additional $35 per motor to repair. If we find a broken stepper motor during your repair, we will contact you to make you aware and email an invoice for the additional charge.
