This unit suffers from portions of the LED backlighting failing, flashing, or an inoperative digital odometer/message center display. The backlighting bulbs on this unit are not serviceable by an automotive technician and require soldering to replace each individual LED. This cluster has 39 PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Surface Mount LEDs. Each one must be carefully removed, cleaned, tinned, and re-soldered with a new LED, and cleaned again.

The Level 1 repair of this unit will fix the display problem and only repair backlighting that is failing at that time. Due to added cost and time, complete LED replacement will only be performed with the Level 2 option. The Level 2 option will replace ALL LED backlighting diodes and repair the common display issue to guarantee years of service. If you are having gauge problems you will need to carefully inspect your sending units/sensors and perform a gauge sweep using a bi-directional scan tool.
