This unit suffers from portions of the LED backlighting failing and flashing, or inoperative digital odometer/message center display. The backlighting bulbs to this unit are not serviceable by an automotive technician and require soldering to replace each LED. This cluster has 39 PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Surface Mount LEDs and each one must be carefully removed, cleaned, tinned, re-soldered with a new LED, and cleaned again.

The level 1 repair of this unit will fix the display problem and only replace LEDs that are currently failing or flashing. Due to added cost and time, complete LED replacement will only be performed with the Level 2 option. The Level 2 option will replace all LED backlighting diodes and repair the common display issues, to guaranteeing years of service. If you are having gauge problems, you will need to carefully inspect your sending units/sensors and perform a gauge sweep using a bi-directional scan tool.
