This is for service of your existing cluster that you will send to us for repair. The initial charge is for inspection only and will be applied to the total repair cost.
This cluster known as the "moon gauge cluster" requires inspection before knowing the total cost of repair. The $75 charge is a bench test and is applied to the repair if it is approved, meaning you will not pay $75 on top of a $100 repair cost. The bench test is only charged if you decline repair. Once your cluster is inspected we will call with the exact amount needed for repair. Most repairs can be done within a range of $165-225. A rough estimate based off of symptoms has been provided below:
Typical Rebuild needed
This cluster will typically have gauges that intermittently shut on and off at random and odometer failure. The odometer failure is caused by a single gear failing and can result in damage to other components to the odometer/trip. The odometer single gear replacement and power supply repair that causes gauge shutdown is $165 to repair. If other odometer components have also failed, additional parts are required at additional cost. Typical turn-around for this repair is 1-2 business days
Single auxiliary gauge failure (auxiliary gauge is fuel, temp, volt, oil)
A single gauge failure is typically the result of a failed sender. If the individual sender has been inspected and/or replaced it is possible the stepper motor has failed. The individual stepper motors for this cluster are $100+ for the single part. Repairs including labor are typically $125-$150 and result in a 2 day turn-around.
